PTL Notes
PTL is the next level of competition from the Aquasprints Junior League and applies to club swimmers in the following age groups:
Group A: born 2008/2009
Group B: born 2006/2007
Group C: born 2004/2005
Group D: born 2003 or earlier
Swimmers for each gala are selected approximately two weeks in advance. Selection is undertaken by the Team Manager and is based on performances and times achieved by swimmers at recent club galas, time trials and Swim Ulster galas.
Swimmers selected for galas will be informed via text approximately two weeks in advance. Please take the time to read and reply to these messages. If a swimmer cannot attend the gala they should inform the team manager as soon as possible to ensure replacements can be arranged in good time.
Dates and results for the 2018/19 PTL galas are noted above. Any change to dates will be notified via text as well as on the club website and Facebook pages.
Race Format
The race format at PTL galas is as follows:
Medley relay: 2 races per age group (boys and girls): 8 races

Max 3 teams per age group (boys and girls)

Boys and girls race separately
-
Group A: 4x25m

All other Groups: 4x50m
Individual strokes: 2 races per age group (boys and girls) all 4 strokes: 32 races

Max 3 swimmers per age group (boys and girls)

Boys and girls race separately

50m for all age groups
Individual medley: 2 races per age group (boys and girls): 8 races

Max 3 swimmers per age group (boys and girls)

Boys and girls race separately

100m for all age groups
Freestyle relay: 2 races per age group (boys and girls): 8 races

Other notes

Galas normally last between 2-3 hours.

Swimmers should wear club swimming costume and swim cap when racing.

They should also bring drinks, spare towels, goggles, swim cap, poolside shoes and t-shirt.

Glass bottles are strictly prohibited at any club galas.

Coach transport for away galas will normally be provided by the club.

Swimmers will be asked to confirm their travel arrangements prior to the gala by text. Please reply as soon as possible to ensure the correct size of coach is ordered.

Coach transport may be cancelled in the event of insufficient numbers. Alternative lift arrangements will then be made subject to availability. All swimmers will be informed in the event of this happening.
Parental assistance is required at *ALL* galas:

Timekeepers (minimum six).

Officials/coaches to organize swimmers prior to each race.

Time and scoring recorders.

Refreshments helpers and servers (home galas only).

Parents are also asked to provide sandwiches, fruit, buns, biscuits and cakes for home galas only. Details will be on the selection text sent by the Team Manager approximately two weeks before the gala.
